Cocalico Dental Offices
 MEET THE TEAM

The Doctors

Dr. William Funk started the dental practice that has become Cocalico Dental Offices in 1974.  Dr. Funk graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Biology and from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine with a D.M.D.  Wishing to further his training after dental school, he completed a hospital general practice residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont.  This medicine-based post-doctoral training has been a part of his practice of dentistry for his entire career.  This has been especially valuable in allowing the opportunity to offer treatment in the operating room under general anesthesia for special needs dental situations.

Dr. Funk is married and has three grown children and two grandchildren.  Besides dentistry he has been active in the Northern Lancaster County community as a volunteer.  He served for sixteen years as a school board director, and seven years as a president, in the Ephrata Area School District.  In the Cocalico School District, Dr. Funk has been serving as a school dentsit for over thirty-three years.  For many years he was invovled in the Ephrata youth baseball program as both a coach and Director of the league.  He currently is a member of the board of directors of Ephrata Community Hospital, a member of the board of directors of Pennsylvania Christian Endeavor (a ministry to develop youth leaders), a member and president of the board of directors of the Ephrata Area School District Education Foundation (a non-profit foundation to promote non-tax funded educational opportunities for students and teachers), and a member of the Ephrata Rotary Club.  In his spare time, Dr. Funk enjoys skiing, scuba diving, reading, and spending time with his family and friends.

Finally, Dr. Funk is a member of the following dental organizations:
  Lancaster County Dental Society
  Fifth District Dental Socity
  Pennsylvania Dental Association
  American Dental Association

  Seattle Study-Club - Lancaster branch
